“Since participating in the dignity program, we as staff have witnessed a glow amongst the residents who attend. Quiet residents become more chatty, residents who are easily agitated tend to be calmer and show their enjoyment by participating and chatting with the program facilitators. This is such an important program to our residents, it provides them with an escape into a tranquil and serine area, touching base with others from the community and  giving them a sense of purpose and a feeling of being helpful”.

“My mental health worker turns up at my door and we come down here and there are lots of people and the fire is going and we cook pizzas. It’s nice to come here in the sun, have a good feed and fill what would normally be a long, boring day. Plus the vitamin D is good for my depression. I really enjoy it”.

“If someone could just sit with somebody in the garden, what an ideal opportunity and environment to do that and just listen, that's all you have to do”.

“I am on my own at home a lot of the time and it’s nice to get out and see some friendly faces rather than staring at my four walls. I like the gardening here. Talking to the plants by myself isn’t much good so it’s nice to share it with others”.

“I think it’s a sense of engaging with the community, we love it. The feedback, coming to DIGnity is very well liked and highly thought of, it’s a priority in our week”.
